Currency
The currency of Romania is represented by leu plural lei , with the code RON (= Romanian New). The code points to the currency reform which took place in Romanian in 2005 and whose results where the turning of the old ROL (Romanian Leu) into the new RON. 1 RON is worth 10,000 ROL.
Since Romanian joined the European Union in January 2007, it is expected to adopt the EURO sometime in the next decade
