Student exchange

One of the objectives of the Bologna process is the "promotion of the mobility of students, of academic and administrative staff". To that effect, the Academy of Economic Studies of Bucharest has been involved in international programmes on mobility.

The Socrates Programme was launched by the European Commission in 1995 with a view to promoting the European dimension and the improvement of education quality by encouraging cooperation among the educational institutes of participating countries.

Based on the analysis of the results obtained, the European Parliament and the Council of Europe decided to launch a second stage of the Socrates Programme, in the period 1 January 2000 - 31 December 2006.

For Romania , for the Academy of Economic Studies in particular, the participation in the Socrates Programme has been an essential element in supporting the reform in the field of education and a key factor in the strategy of accession to the European Union.

ERASMUS is part of the Community SOCRATES Programme and includes activities aimed at European cooperation in higher education. ERASMUS supports the development of the European dimension of graduate and post-graduate studies, the programme covering all study subjects and areas.

Enjoying a good reputation worldwide, the Academy of Economic Studies of Bucharest has been in demand from overseas students for Bachelor's courses, doctoral studies, specialization, and exchange of experience. Most undergraduates and doctoral students are from Albania , Angola , Azerbaijan , Belgium , Bulgaria , China , Columbia , Congo , Croatia , Egypt , Gabon , Germany , Greece , Iran , Lebanon , Macedonia , Great Britain , Morocco , Nigeria , the Moldavian Republic , Russia , the USA , Syria , Sweden , Turkmenistan , Ukraine , and Yemen .
